20.12.2009 - Comfort Toilet Bowl

Today hubby suggested go to Geylang Road - Universal Union check out toilet appliances. From my house to the place is really near, only 4 stops :)

Universal Union has 2 shops in total, quite big. You can find any brands here included those brand that couldn't find at Jalan Besar - this is the main reason we were here! We saw the brand that we want Hansgrohe and MaClaire! Comparing prices and asking around, the sales person name Koh quite knowledgeable but his appearance look very 'beng' :P Initially hubby doesn't like he serve us, but later on feel better (after his explanation on all stuffs).

After have a hard time bargain here & there, finally we bought our Master Room and Common Room WC MaClaire Oscar series and 1 set of Hansgrohe tab (include Shower Mixer Tab, Basin Mixer Tab and 1 Shower head). All these will place in our Common Toilet except the Basin Mixer Tab, as we do not need the Shower Tab and Shower head - we will get Rain Shower for our Master Bathroom!!

As the bill up to $500, Universal Union allow us to keep our stock in their warehouse and free delivery when we need it. Since our MaClaire toilet bowl need to order, just nice after CNY it will be available!

Yeah~ Sort out our toilet bowl! Next Basin and many many more! Our hobs & hoods will confirm by next week!

Oh ya, our ID has showed us the 1st 3D drawings! Hmm..... we feel dissatisfied and meeting him next week to CHANGE!!!

13.12.2009 - Jalan Besar

Today went to Jalan Besar again, continue hunting from yesterday incomplete task. Please remember when you visit Jalan Besar, don't start hunting from the 1st Poh Joo you saw. Please go further until you see Kelantan Lane, after Berseh Food Court - then the shopping area started!

We visited all the shops at Jalan Besar, comparing prices for toilet bowl, basin, tap, shower tap, heater, hobs and hoods, and etc. Now then we know toilet bowl has SO many brands! Velin, Baron, Magnum.... all we never heard before! Haha......same as shower/sink/basin tap. Have too many brands till we blur.

Went to Poh Joo, Eng Soon Huat, Chuan Heng, Bellari and few more shops compare pricing. Now we have an idea (estimate) how much for each stuffs, and by the time we go next month is to 'slash' price from the shop! :P And we decided to get Rinnai for our hob and hood - 3 burners with inner flame :) Sink we know as well, only rain shower, toilet bowl, basin and tap still deciding which brand. Shall we go for Hansgrohe, Daxima or Grohe? Maclaire, Velin or Baron? Headache... still need to go through more information. This coming week go to Universal Union to see more designs!

Next - Geylang & Balestier Road!

12.12.2009 - IKEA Detolf

Today we going to Ikea for the Christmas Daily Avent Offer! Detolf! Initially was $99 per piece, today is $85! We intend to get it for our new house, since now has the offer of course grab it 1st!

We bought 3 after discussed with our ID, how and where to place it together with our custom make display cabinet. Gosh, the Detolf is REALLY heavy!!! It's about 42kg per piece, damn....... and the length is quite long (163cm). After we bought it we have BIG problem in shifting it back home. All cabs unwilling to fetch us, sigh. Not only we encountered the problem, we saw whoever bought this series all have the same problem.. :-(

Finally after further discussed, we plan to get 2 cabs. 2 detolf in 1 cab, 1 detolf in another one cab, we place them vertically behind the seats. It's really painful by carrying the stuffs, due to I have limited strength :( Hubby has to carry most of the time *sob sob*

Finally we got our 3 Detolf back home! Goodness.......... had a tough time in carrying these stuffs! But I think is worth it! To save $$ from the extra 1 feet of the display cabinet :P

05.12.2009 - Hob & Hoods

Today wake up early, although feel so reluctant to wake up so early on Saturday! But we have task to do….

Going to Citygas at Singapore Power Hub today @ Somerset. For? To see more hobs and hoods, what else! Heard from reno talk forum members told there’s quite a lot of design can be found here, just to see design and copy down the model number :P as the price here is slightly expensive than outside.

When we reach there, quite disappointed. As not THAT many hobs and hoods as we expected! Only certain brand like Ellane, Turbo, Rinnai is available. We targeted at Rinnai and Fujioh, but too bad they don’t carry Fujioh anymore!  Thus we only look for Rinnai design. The package which includes hobs + hoods, doesn’t attractive though. Especially the hoods are so ugly! Eee…… I personally don’t like.

We saw the Rinnai inner flame hob, kinda impressive. As inner burner won’t affected by strong wind when cook, it can cook faster and indirectly save gas as well. The design not bad though. Hubby prefer the inner flame compare to normal hobs.

What do you think? I will definitely goes for 3 burner, 2 burners no no for me! :P

* Rinnai is a brand from Japan

Will sure buy without the package as I don’t like Rinnai Hoods! Will go Jalan Besar coming weekend to shop for it, Rinnai or Fujioh? Which 1 will win our attraction? :P

04.12.2009 - Confirm ID

Yeah, finally after met up few ID we finalized our 'desire' designer. With the quote he gave us, and most importantly the 'good' comment about him from reno talk members, we got him! However, we still trying to 'press' down his quotation, no choice le - very tight budget!

Our reno could be only started by 26th Jan 2010, pray hard the time is fix. We still waiting for the Fengshui Master to confirm the date, which day is good for hacking,.Which day to hack, what time and which part to hack from etc, tedious isn’t it?

Today went to Hoe Kee to check out some stuffs – kitchen basin, tap and hob and hoods. There have too ‘limited’ choice as the shop is really small. Guess we still have to make a trip down to Jalan Besar to check out more models and we should be get all stuffs from there too. Will update again after Jalan Besar visit!

Tomorrow going to Citygas hub! Why? Check out what’s going on…

28.11.2009 - Bought Our Sofa~

Today went to Kaki Bukit, walk around to search for our Sofa. Too bad, all the sofa was not pass our requirement :(

Guess what, I asked hubby to call the shop we went yesterday - Winter International @ Furniture Mall regards 1 sofa. Where we quite like it, but due to pricing wise we hold before we commit. Hubby try to ask for discount from him, and guess what! We manage to get our sofa!! Though the price figure is not really what we wanted *sob sob*, but still have bit discount, where we still happy.

After being walked around these few days, making survey. Now then we realized the furniture in market now is NOT CHEAP!!! Trust me, electrical appliances are much cheaper compare earlier age, but furniture no!

We love the sofa very much! Color wise, we still haven't decide yet as will wait for our ID to choose for us :) The sofa is SOOO comfortable!

Hooray~~ 1 stuff checked!

27.11.2009 - Furniture Hunting

Since November 2009, we had been hunting for furniture all over Singapore. Our house should be ready by latest March 2010, thus is time for us to search around to look for furniture and electrical appliances. Planning a wedding is not an easy task, what about HOUSE? Gosh, I should say the effort is equivalent!

We had been running up & down for warehouse sales, and best deal. This is the effort to put in if you want to get something in good deal. Survey, price comparison, survey........ is a MUST MUST! We have been doing a lot of home work as for now, almost everyday.......

Although is tiring, but is fun! Because we will be getting our new home soon! Just the 2 of us :) All effort is WORTH it!

30.11.2009 - Our Dream House 1st Appointment

Today is our HDB 1st appointment, the queue at HDB hub was quite crowded. Appointment at 9.30am and ended at 12 noon...... But finally we signed our 1st appointment!

1 thing we feel unhappy is the 2nd appointment, which is our collection key date. Due to the SELFISH seller, we have to wait for so long! Guess what, they need 2 months to renovate their HDB mezzaine! Amazing right! Before this, we had given them 60 days OTP which is consider VERY considerate of us! Shxx! Pardon me, just feel the seller are a selfish PIG!

Cool down....since we buy house, should feel happier isn't it! Relac............ Happy :)

We went to the lawyer firm straight after ended at HDB Hub, to signed our letter with Bank, what else -> Bank Loan! We gotten bank loan from OCBC bank, where they given the best rates compare other bank. Too bad we couldn't take HDB Loan, else the interest would be more stable -_-
