Frame Up

Finally, we fulfill our dream, to our dream destination -> Greece!

We just got back a weeks ago. We had spent 2 weeks there for our belated honeymoon, where we post phone after our wedding. Due to lots to spent on our newly setup home sweet home :)

Here is a new frame up at our living hall. Hubby did this puzzle for me on my birthday, and we promised will only hang this puzzle up ONLY after we went to the place - the blue church ^_^

More decoration added to our home sweet home... will update soon ^_*

♥ Love of Flowers ♥

It's been awhile no update our home blog. But would like to say, our blog is still alive! :P

Nothing much for this few months, our house, almost fill up with furniture and needed stuffs. Though as & when I'm still adding on kitchenware, which I love the most! Still hunting my new oven, going to give away my old Rowenta oven soon.

It's been our plan to get pretty flora at home. Thus, yesterday went to Bedok has our breakfast, and get some flowers from the flower stall. Which is cheaper and fresh flowers!

We mix & match the flowers from the stall, and try to test our flower 'skill', decorate it our own style! Hubby decorate for the big vase while I'm doing the small pot. Here is the outcome of the flowers deco..... we both like it very much, though we don't have the flower skill at all :P

The mix & match bouquet turned out very flowery and colorful. I love it very much! ^_^

Additional furniture from IKEA

We make another trip down to IKEA again to get the drawer & wardrobe that we saw before... good that hubby insisted to confirm measurement before we buy, phew~!

Bought 3 in total, 2 chests drawers plus 1 wardrobe. We paid for delivery but hubby insists not to pay for assembling fees, as he will assemble all by himself :S

IKEA delivered last weekend and hubby has started to assemble once the stuff arrived.

I was really impressed by hubby that he assembled all these by his own. He don't even allow me to help as he may know I couldn't help much :-( He managed t0 assemble all in few days time, he is MY MAN!~ ^_^

More greenery!

Hubby & myself went to IKEA on New Year's Day. Planning to get a wardrobe for our guest room, and additionally top up some greenery to our sanctuary home as well! :)

We finally saw 1 wardrobe where we both like it, suit our guest room color and most importantly - the price! It was less than $400! And I saw another cabinet that can match with the cabinet design.... We decided to get both, but hubby wanted to confirm the measurement of the guest room before buy. Thus, we will make another trip down to IKEA again.(yeah! can have my favorite chicken wing again! Yum yum~)

We bought 1 more cactus for our kitchen :P And here are the plants we add on to our house ^_^

This is the Lucky Bamboo we bought. A fengshui indoor plant :) We placed it at our dining table, for more wealth and health :P

Hubby was trying to study more about nurseries now, in order to take care of our plants :P

This is our 1st year celebrated New Year at our home sweet home :)

We have a mini party to celebrate the coming 2011 in our sanctuary home, together with our close friends and families. Before hand, I had ordered Rosemary Roasted Turkey from NTUC Finest since few weeks ago. Initially wanted to cook but due to I need to work on New Year's eve, thus decided just to buy it.

We have gift exchange for the night and together count down at 12AM by welcoming year 2011!

Merry Christmas!!!

This is our 1st year Christmas Carol celebration in our Sanctuary Home. We decided to have steamboat dinner instead of the usual western cuisine :)

Jingle Bell! Jingle Bell! Jingle all e way! Yeah, Christmas is coming!

This year will be our 1st year celebrate White Christmas in our sanctuary home sweet home! The feeling is so good, and this is our 1st time to decorate our Christmas Carol tree together! Hooray~

Bought our Christmas tree from Robinson. Been looking around at Takashimaya, Tangs, and Metro, but nothing catch our eyes. This is the only tree where caught our eyes, 5" feet lovely artificial pine tree. There's sales going on thus we entitled further discount for Robinson member, bought it at $2xx. And we bought some Christmas ornaments from Robinson as well.

Hubby saw IKEA newsletter that ornaments is having sales and cheaper price than shopping outlet. Thus we went to IKEA Tampines yesterday to grab more :) Yeah, it was so much cheaper! We bought more ornaments to doll up our Christmas tree!

New 'Toy'

Yup, and finally we bought one entertainment gear for our sanctuary home :) Wii!

Though hubby more interested by getting PS3, however, he would like to give something 'new' to our nieces/nephew when they visited our house, thus he gave up PS3 at the moment.

Wii can bring more fun to the kids, and of course, can let them 'calm down' easily :P

Fun Fun Fun! Spent 2 nights playing wii with our friends at home. Creating so much noise! Haha..

When can hubby get his PS3? Poor thing......

Yeah, our retro clock finally arrived yesterday! Hubby had ordered this online since last month, but it needs more than a month to reach.

We originally spotted this clock from a shop in Plaza Parkroyal shopping mall. But hubby decided to hold before purchase, as he would like to check online for the pricing. Yes! And he managed to found a website where sold in cheaper price ^_^ thus, he ordered online....

We love this orange color Twemco clock very much. It managed to blend in very well with our living hall :)

After moved in for more than 5 months, finally our sanctuary home soon to b complete. As some stuffs we still haven't add on yet, like our game room, hubby still need some more time to allocate his 'precious' be@rbrick and transformer, and we will install another wall-mount TV for our WII console. As for guest room, we are still hunting for wardrobe... need some more time to complete everything :P

Common Room Bed Frame

Few months back, we had bought bed frame for our common bed room. It has delivered last month, however, there's something 'wrong' with the bed frame :-(

1st delivered
Hubby noticed something appearing on the bed frame. Extremely tiny bugs crawling all over bed frame, especially the underneath. Hubby tried all kind of methods, but still unable to kill them! Sound irritating and disgusting isn't it? Sigh... But we sure they're not bed bugs, as I saw bed bugs before! Eeeww! We contacted the person in charge and complaint about this, and they claims it never happened before. But they come with the solution, where re-order another new set for us. Hence, rejected and sent back.

2nd delivered
Bed frame delivered nicely with plastic seal. After bed frame 'settle' down in our room, hubby started to investigate again. And guess what, yes! He managed to spot few tiny bugs again, however the species was different from the 1st one. Lucky, not bed bugs too! Phew~ And, good that it's only 1 species crawling and lesser compare to 1st delivered few species! Scary right?! After monitoring for 2 days, hubby called the person in charge again. And we decided to get the them to refund us instead of re-send us over & over again! We were really tired by the monitoring work and we do not wish it spread! *touch wood* They agreed to refund us since there will be no solutions that will be accepted by us anymore. Hence, rejected and sent back.

We decided not to get bed frame anymore. The mattress will just set on the floor, like Japanese style :P The outcome was pretty nice, matching our wall color and deco. And it save up a lot of spaces as well! And save $$! ^_^

Please, do spot check your new bed frame before laying down your mattress. The tiny bugs were really small, it's really hard to spot it, it's transparent color - extremely tiny. I am glad that hubby have 'super' eyes, haha........ if me, I don't think I realize it! Thanks GOD!

We decided to allocate more storage at our kitchen. For better arrangement, we have to get something which look simple and rigid. After exploring few places, we finally found the suitable one from IKEA. The design, color and material match our kitchen very well :) Happy! My oven can put on the 'top' shelve! Yay~

Our house warming less than 1 month time... Hubby still trying very hard to organize his 'precious' toys :P

Here is another task for us, part of our sanctuary home decoration. This 妹头 puzzle we bought from Japan, Ghibli Museum. We both love Totoro very much, thus bought few puzzles for our home. Have to Ganbatte to assemble all the puzzles! ^_^

We still dilemma for our common bed room wardrobe. Should we custom made or buy from furniture shop? Has been looking around, but yet find our ideal design. Sigh.. Has contacted our ID Mr.K to quote us the custom made wardrobe. Finger cross~

Still have 1 more task need to be settle by Mr.K, our common bathroom - toiletries holder. Told by Mr.K, the white granite we are waiting for, still not reach yet. And the shipment may need to wait for another 1 year! Goodness sake! Thus, we asked him to give us alternative choice, where he suggested to install glass shield top. Initially he told about install black granite, however it does not match our common tiles at all :-( So, now still waiting for him to MMS me the photo of the glass shield... gotta PM him again!

The Scent of Mt Sapola

Yesterday went to Tampines Mall to get our home fragrance. I intend to buy it ever since I passed by this shop. Fall in love to the scent whenever I pass by the shop!

Thanks to Singapore Sales, they have the 'promotion' now where purchase above certain value you could get rebate voucher.

We bought 3 bottles of Ginger-Lemongrass diffuser, indulge so much to this smell! Make me feel so relax and refresh... it gives me the SPA feeling. Hubby love it too.

Dining Table

Finally ordered our dining table after considered more than 2 months :P What else that doubting us? The price of course! Been trying to look around for others but still couldn't find anything that catch our eyes. Thus, end up we decided to get the initial desire dining table that we like it very much, quite heart pain though because no discount given at all :( But we both love the design very much and most importantly it blend in our house design. And the 4 corners are slightly round shape instead of sharp, good for safety purposes :)

Sigh, we have to wait for 1 month for the delivery. Due to the dining table need to be order and custom made base on our color request. Arrgh, gotta wait again. Glad that our house warming arrange in month of September :P

This is the original color of the dining table. It comes with 4 chairs, we did not add 2 more chairs as hubby said it will look cramped. We changed the tempered glass top to different color, so does the table legs. This is the reason why we need to wait for another 1 month :S

The dining table that we bought is from Furniture Mall - Winter International. This was the place that we bought our sofa too! ^_^

Greenish Plant

We intend to 'green up' our house by getting plants. Yeah, and we finally bought it!

We went to Chye Heng Orchid Garden located at New Upper Changi Road, where most nearby to our place. Saw lots and different kind of plants. Fall in love to some flowers plant, but too bad most of the plant needed more space, like landed property would be perfect! Flowers plant do need a lot of sunlight to make it grow naturally and blossom. Thus, no chance...*sob sob*

After asked around and stayed there for more than 1.5 hours, we decided to get 铁树. This type of tree is suitable for indoor and outdoor, even minimalist of sunlight. Our front door is bright, but sun light still couldn't shine through the plant. So, we would not worry of having a hard time taking care of the plant :)

The plant was delivered on Saturday, since we are not at home during weekday.

Hubby spotted the staffs reached our downstair while loading down the plants!

This is our 铁树 in front of our house :) It brings up the greenery and does help to 'cover' up our main door, avoiding people seeing through our house if we open the door. Brings 'privacy'!

We bought 2 铁树, one is for the outdoor where grow by soil. While the other one is hydroponic plant, it is the art of growing plants without soil, which is mainly for indoor display. Both trees easy to maintain and only need to replenish the water once a week, and twice a week for hydroponic.

Will take our hydroponic 铁树 photo when free ^_^

We still wanted to get more small plant from IKEA. We both love greenery, it makes our home so much natural and good for our eye sight as well. Yay~ More greenery!

Enhancement by Us

Here are the enhancement work done by us. Of course, we spent more - but it brings more comfort and nicer interior for our sanctuary home :)

Kitchen clothes hanger area

We change the traditional bamboo pole clothes hanger to Easy Hanger. Where you can pull down the hanger and get house work done easily and safely. Without worrying the pole may falls down anytime and need not to stretch my neck. It's really useful especially if I got pregnant :) And it enhance the appearance of our kitchen area ^_^

Main Door Gate

We change the main door gate from 3/4 split aluminium door to single wrought iron door. We customized this from SpecMetal which provide good quality wrought iron material, trendy style and better security lock set. The single door allows for bigger clearance entry through the gate and the simple design looks more trendy compare to the aluminium door.

Windows Solar Film

Previous owner has this 'plastic' printed film on windows, where the films started to crack and peel off. We did not change the windows and grill due to still in good condition. Thus we decided to change the solar film for whole house, where it looks cleaner. We choose a better quality material film to reduce UV ray, glareness heat that get in our house. We engaged Miracool Glass Shield, recommended by one of our good friend.

Store Room Storage

Previous owner has this 3 partition board installed in store room. Due to the store room extremely pathetic small, we have to plan a smarter way to fit in our stuffs! Thus, we customized 2 racks from YKToh. It's a bit costly, but the rack material and measurement are fit to the store room size. And each rack have 5 section, where you can adjust according to your needs. Each side has a 'ear' where you can clip on the side hole. It fit nicely and firm. And have stronger and better support to hold heavy stuffs. It look more spacey and we can easily get in and grab our stuffs conveniently.

Electrical Point

We changed all the socket and reallocate few power point. The original socket given by our electrician was the usual brand that use in most contractor - MK. The electrician couldn't minus off the cost of the switches even though we not using it. But we still decides to get our own since we trust the brand - more durable and the design look sleek. We switch all the sockets to LEGRAND.

Here are the few little things that done by our ID - Mr.K, to enhance our house appearance :)

Our Master Bedroom air con trunking

Initially, Mr.K told us nothing much can be done for the ugly air con trunking. I was pretty sad about this. However, there's 1 day when we got in and, wow! The trunking along the upper corner has boxed up neatly, it look like false ceiling instead of a trunk! The most important part is, there's no problem for air con maintenance in future. Everything can be disassemble nicely and easily. Well done Mr.K! We are very satisfied on this.

Kitchen Piping

Initial plan from Mr.K was 1 straight line cabinet, instead of L shape box up. The idea was good, but it blocks up the light from getting through kitchen area. Thus we rejected.

This L shape box was an idea from hubby, and after further discussion with Mr.K - the result was really good! It brings out the stream line of the kitchen cabinet, and allowing the sun light to shine up our kitchen!

Study cum Fun Room Piping

There's piping from the common bathroom pass through -> study room -> living hall -> master bathroom. Living hall has no issue as it has boxed up. The ugly part is in study room where you can spot the 2 ugly piping below the ceiling. When I informed Mr.K, he told me to relax! He will not handle such house condition to me :P Thus I trust him. YES! My trust on him is good! He boxed up the piping for me, and see the result now! ^_^

Though looks like minor things on here, but if Mr.K doesn't take the initiative to plan all this, we will ended up scream like mad, especially me! :P He's a very responsible ID I should say. And he will keep his promise! That's the most important attitude for an ID.

My Precious Moment collection has 80% displayed, still left about 20% to go :P Hubby is my interior designer :P

Meanwhile, hubby slowly bring out his 'precious' collections where had been saved in the boxes for so many years! Finally! He proudly showed out all his collections ^_^

What is Be@rbrick

Be@rbrick is a collectible toy designed and produced by MediCom Toy Incorporated. The name is derived from the fact that the figure is a cartoon-style representation of a bear, and that it is a variation of MediCom's Kubrick design. The at sign in the place of the letter a is a visual device that is a part of the Be@rbrick brand, and as such, a trademark of MediCom Toy.

Finally bought our new house number plates. Hubby went to Queensway mall to customize this, love the simple design :)

Here is the BESTA book shelf bought from IKEA, we spent $50 just to deliver all back home and assemble ourselves. Hubby purposely choose BESTA due to the narrow compartment where can nicely fit and display all his comics & magazine collections. The comics saw here, just half of it, more to add *tsk tsk*

Part of our shoes cabinet. Still have upper level and another side compartment where at our main door entrance. Yeah, most are my shoes :P

Our Master Bathroom, we both love the cosy feel very much. Our ID, Mr.K did a fabulous job!

Finally got our door bell! Hubby purposely make a trip to Jalan Besar to buy door bell and hand vacuum.

We choose Black & Decker hand vacuum - more long-lasting and strong suction. We get the cordless pivoting hand vacuum which more convenient to carry around the house while do cleaning.

Here is our door bell, wireless door bell. Initially wanted to get Legrand door bell, but we forgot to ask our ID to allocate a the wiring, thus we switch to wireless. There are 3 tunes to choose from, but only 1 is acceptable by us - which is the standard bell sound 'DING DONG'!

Received my order from US last week - few items for our home sweet home.

Our gate installed finally, whole processed less than 1 hour. SpecMetal worker were very professional and fast.

We choose a simple design with single door frame where looks more modern and most importantly - spacey! We don't like 1/2 split door as it caused inconvenience and limited allowances when trying to get in.

Single door frame allows for bigger opening clearance and enhance ease of entry through the gate

The side panel installed nicely as well where normal gate will come without this panel

Start 'cooking' at home yesterday..... Had great fun at our own sweet home! And love our kitchen so much!

Bought this Fuji Apple from Tampines Century Square basement - NTUC Finest. We found out the Finest Store sell lots of exclusive brand where you found at Raffles City SC - Market Place, but with CHEAPER price!

Gryphon Tea from NTUC Finest as well :) Love the flowery aroma from the flowers.... Love it!

Our laundry baskets (named CAMO) bought from Parkway Isetan, only cost us $17.90 each. Original price was $25.90 each. We love the basket material, as it's not a 'hard' basket but truly rubber material, thus it can be bend or twisted, very flexible :) We separate our laundry into two different groups ^_^

We decided to change our HDB aluminium framed gate to galvanized wrought iron which is stronger and durable than the usual aluminium gates.

Through recommendation by 1 of the forum mate, we managed to locate SPECSMETAL, which specialized in quality galvanized wrought iron gates. They are located at Tampines industry park, so near to our place!

We were attended by Mr. C.H.Tan (one of the family members from Spec Metal). Please remember to call 1st before drop by their showroom, as the person in charge may not be in, thus no one can attended to you.

The company name is Yang Kwang. A family business that ran for more than 30 over years.

Specs Metal which is by Yang Kwang organization.

The factory - they are the main manufacturer for all kinds of grill for most of the condominium and landed property in Singapore.

Showroom - all kind of designs can be choose from here or you may refer to the catalogue available. As for gate designs, you may specify your own - 1/2 split door, 3/4 split door or single door frame.

The handles are from VRH - established in 1972 which leading manufacturer of stainless steel products, a regional based company well known for their door lock products, while the locking system are anti-duplicate keys which from Makoto Japan.

The stopper for 1/2 split doors. The quality is much stronger compare to normal aluminium stopper.

Though a bit pricey compare to others, but we like the quality of the gate parts. We simply love the design and the fact of the gate where it has padded edges to ensure a quiet and smooth closure of the gate.

We choose a simple yet elegant design to match our sanctuary home, and we go for single door frame. Gate arrange to be install coming weekend, stay tune for further details!

10.04.2010 - Kitchen Window Grill

Early morning 9.30am Mr.K contractor came to install our kitchen window grill. Oh! Guess I never mentioned why does we change our kitchen window grill since we did not change for the rest?

Here's the story:
The debris cleaner. When they clean our house - throwing all rubbish upon completion, the worker 'throw' away our kitchen window grill as well! When we moved in, I realized something was missing at our kitchen area, and I spotted it! Where is our kitchen window grill? Haha.. Amazing right? After informing Mr.K about this he will get contractor to get another new grill for our kitchen. Hooray! Original kitchen window grill was really bad condition but due to this incident we are lucky to get a new one... ^_^

First time had our breakfast at home, and home made sandwich too! :P

And enjoying our favorite cake (Strawberry Shortcake) at night, bought from Tampines One! OMG...... gonna be PIG soon :P

Oh ya, we decided to change our door gate! Hubby finally give in :) Going to Tampines coming weekend to check out the gate material. Will update once confirm.

08.04.2010 - Fridge Delivered

Our fridge finally delivered well by Samsung staffs. We had bad experience for the 1st attempt delivery. The fridge model is Snow White RT72KASE. Due to the dimension slightly bigger than usual fridge, thus door fridge has to be dismantle before pushing in the house. Note has been stated in the invoice and delivery order, and this is a common ways to deliver this fridge to HDB.

Due to the 'laziness' of the delivery guys, our main door scratches and fridge dented! They don't even care to dismantle the fridge door, by forcing to push in the fridge. Ended up our fridge stuck at the main door for 1 hour!! The fridge has been rejected and hubby has lodge a complaint to Samsung. We have to wait 5 days later to get a new replacement. So disappointed! However, Samsung did compensate us $100 NTUC voucher for their unprofessional incident. Causing us hassle again to patch the main door!

Let's see how's the 2nd batch Samsung 'special force' move in our fridge successfully!

Fridge doors dismantle

3 guys involved. One guy measuring the door length(inside the house) while two were outside pushing in the fridge accordingly. It's only took less than 5 minutes to pass the main door. Well done guys!

Our lovely snow white fridge RT72KASE remains 1 piece in good condition! Phew~

MGL Curtain came to install our curtain today. The whole process was less than 1 hour! The workers were really fast! Andrew personally came as well to make sure everything in order.

Move in day! Finally after 7th weeks renovation, our little sanctuary nest is ready to move in~

The final cleaning by the contractor was really good. It's much cleaner than we expected. Of course, we still need to do few rounds of self-cleaning to make sure everything is TRULY wash!

^_^ Always a bless to busy for our own house..... worth it!

Basically today will be our move in day - Lucky Day :) And furniture and electrical appliances partly deliver today as well ^_^

Today is final touch up work. Mr.K has informed all contractor pop by our house to touch up the minor work. We have few appointments too! ^_^

Our previous owner had printed window film, which make our window look dirty and unclear. Thus we decided to change all window solar film. It can help to reject heat while allowing natural light to pass through. It give us privacy and improve our comfort - looks cleaner too!

We engaged CoolKote Pte Ltd to do this work. Recommended by one of our good friend. We truly satisfied with the quality of the film and skill work. There's no bubble or uneven line spotted for all panels, thumbs up! Their pricing is quite reasonable too compare to Vkool. Quality is better than Vkool and cheaper!

Our 6 poles easy hanger! The lowest level reach my chin, which is just nice for me to hang clothes and bed sheet. Hubby said easier for me especially during my pregnancy ^_*

Store Rack
Remember we got someone came over to do measurement for our store room? YK Toh Marketing is a wholesaler and distributor for hardware, household products. There have 2 materials to choose from - Wood or Stainless Steel.

We customized 2 store rack where can fit into our store room and choose stainless steel rack which is more durable.

Take Note:

- Please do not call number shown at YK Toh website, the pricing quoted by them is different (more expensive). We had this contact which given by my ex-colleague. Directly contact with the rack department and we get a better quote. Weird isn't it? But this is the fact.
* Call 67468622 look for Amber

- When the sales man do measurement of your store room. Remember to take note of your skirting thickness, because the sales man will only measure from wall - wall. It's happened on us where the sales man forgot about the skirting thicknesses, causing our store rack unable to fit in properly! So, make sure take note on this!

Hubby DIY the base to lay on our laminate floor before putting on the store rack. To protect our laminate floor.

Due to our store room extremely pathetic small, we fit the rack into L shape. And due to our store room flooring uneven, PLUS thanks to the sales man who ignore the skirting thicknesses, the store rack unable to push in nicely to the wall and become unstable. Hubby has to manually cut out mini cardboard to slot underneath the rack nicely and replace few rubber edge stand with mini cardboard to stabilize the whole rack. Really thanks to that sales man! Putting us so much trouble! !@#$%

Overall, the quality of the rack is superb. At least we satisfied with the quality and material of the rack. Just take note the above statements, you will avoid this hassle.

Pricing wise, roughly about $180 per rack.

My favorite kitchen set - Allegra Variarc high spout with pull-out spray! Love it soo much! Thank you hubby agreed to get this ^_^Though it's cost more than normal pull-out spray, but we not doubt the quality of it, compare to those spray made in China.

Home Decor - Curtain

What's next? Curtain!

A home won't be complete without the curtain! It can block light, sound, heat, wind, decorative and most importantly - Privacy!

After searching for few curtain makers, finally we confirm MGL Curtain. We went to different shops and asked for pricing (same materials and colors), they able to provide the cheapest and attractive quotes! And no worries for their services/materials. As we had survey from different forum - Reno Talk and Singaporebrides. Their comments are really good!

Actually, we have been to MGL last 2 months, before our renovation started. Met with Andrew, one of the staff in MGL. A friendly and jovial guy. Thus, this will be our 2nd meet up with him, and our curtain selection time was super fast, which is within 1.5 hours. We have been running different places, spent so much time on choosing materials before, worth it for now!

Andrew is a very nice chap.... and the rest of the staffs (May and Joey) are very friendly too. Even if you don't have sample material on hand, just ask their opinion. They do have ICI and Nippon paint catalog too, convenient for you to check color matching at the same time.

He will be coming down to our house to do measurement again (had roughly given him what is our window measurement) thus easier for him to quote us price on the spot. You may do this too to save your time! :)

Initially we wanted to have Roman blind, but after read and ask for more details, we choose to give up due to the hassle of cleaning and re-slotting the blind which will cause the blind uneven and spoil the look. We are not that patience anyway :P

Home Niche Easy Hanger

Went to HomeNiche to look for laundry hanger. They are the manufacturer for pulley system hanger, which is more reliable and provide quality assurance. Beware imitation in this market.

We had known this earlier, but hubby would like to see the actual thing before place order. We wanted to get rid of the traditional way of hanging clothes - bamboo poles. And of course to save and lighten my afford to hang clothes by stretching my neck looking on top! Further more, it's enhance the appearance of our sanctuary home :) I won't be worry the bamboo poles falls on my head again!!! (I'm a super clumsy penguin, believe me, it happened before!)

What is Easy Hanger then?
There are 3 different types of models. Retractable, Foldable and Electrical Hanger. We got the Retractable hanger where it fixed to the ceiling and can be lowered by using pulley system. For this model, you may choose either 4 poles or 6 poles.

After went through few places to check price (Mega Discount, Harvey Norman, Parisilk), finally we found the cheapest deal at Best Denki! Currently they have in-house promotion and come with additional $100 Takashimaya voucher.

This promotion does not allow installment, and the Nett price have to pay by CASH. Hubby requested the sales assistant to check again, and finally we allow to pay by Credit Card! Sweep! $1099 with $100 Taka Voucher, which is our Snow White only cost us $999! Hooray~!

The main reason we fall in love to this fridge was - HUGE yet Energy Savings! It's 4 tick!

Have to get all sockets and switches before Monday. As lights installation work gonna start by next week - which is the last week of our renovation work! Wohoo~

Our electrical work is included all sockets and switches. But the contractor will only provides 'cheaper' brand, maybe MK? Or maybe worse than MK. Thus we rather buy our own. Bad point is, we couldn't minus off the stuffs from the electrical package :-( Well, the given sockets & switches we will just keep it, since already paid.

Hubby went to Jalan Besar to get Legrand sockets, a shop that recommended by hubby's childhood friend's brother. Of course pricing wise, slightly cheaper due to recommendation :-P

Initially we wanted to get half Mosaic and half Mallia design. Ended up, hubby choose Mallia design for the whole house. Reasons?

1) Price much cheaper
2) Our e-points are not concealed thus Mosaic sound wasted
3) Decided to have only 1 design for the whole house

Carpentry work started! Yohoo~ So excited see all stuffs delivered in to our house......

It's 7 plus in the evening, and the contractor still working in our unit fixing all cabinets! Wow.... So happy to see partly of the cabinets installed!

More works added for all the cabinets!

MBR basin and vanity cabinet. The door come without soft closure, have to check to Mr.K and I must make sure I get the soft closure!

Dining hall incomplete display cabinet. The empty gap near ceiling has filled up.

Study room incomplete display cabinet and study table. Can spot the alignment between study table and cabinet? Not sure is it design on purpose or? But I'm gonna ask Mr.K to align it to be same alignment.

Glass shield installed for our kitchen cabinet. The cabinet that seal up the ugly trunking, good space to keep our laundry stuffs like washing powder, etc :P

Lift up the glass shield (with soft closure technology) drainage plates shelves installed inside. Out of my expectation, the quality of the drainage shelves and base cover plates are good quality! (FOC) ^_^

Day 4
Closet design came over to install our wardrobe today. The worker took 1 whole day to build it up. Initially they forgot to bring our mirror, hubby have to call our 'blur' Closet Design coordinator to ask. Another worker send down just to deliver the mirror *tsk tsk*

Drawers and the big glass door for our wardrobe. Huge isn't it!

The 2nd time delivery for the mirror door. We never expect the mirror was so HUGE! Thought only half of the door size, but....... PERFECT! Haha.... We can dress up together by not fighting over the mirror! LOL~

The worker started by building the false wall, follow by setting up the poles (which is the main support for the post system design). Fixing the pole is not easy. And guess what, the 2 workers (China man) Can't deny their attitude are very kind, but they are quite careless. In a way, the alignment went wrong. Lucky that hubby is around during the whole installation, and those uneven and misalignment managed to spot by him, and asked them to adjust immediately.

Imagine, the wardrobe installed not in line, left & right side uneven? Gosh...... there are 2 things we will ask Closet Design to change - drawer handle uneven and one hanging pole chip off at the edge. This is how our wardrobe final work! Overall, we both satisfied with the quality of the closet. The pole, design and woods are all solid, which well promised by them. But, bear in mind... monitoring still advisable during the installation and coordination is very important too.

Love my 8.5" ft wardrobe! But I think gonna be not enough for me to locate my clothes!

Week 5 Renovation (8th - 12th March 2010)

Day 1
Cleaning work has been done today! The next few days & next week will be carpentry work. Thus the messy place has to clear off before the installation. This is just a basic chemical wash, follow by another clean chemical wash again before the completion.... tidy isn't it?

Original laundry hanger has been removed. Easy hanger will be install soon.

Remember the hot & cold piping installed wrongly last 2 weeks? Mr.K has informed the contractor to shift to the correct position, which is at the right side now.

Day 2
Today hubby took leave to wait for few delivery. Toilet bowl, shower set, tap (by Universal Union), cooker hood & hobs (by Aik Leong electrical), kitchen sink (by Hoe Kee) gonna deliver today. And we arrange a sales man come today as well to do measurement for our store room rack. We will custom made 2 rack for the store room. Their rack quality is solid, and most importantly - reasonable price! (Details will be in next post)

When we saw the wood color of our platform, hubby quite dislike the color tone. Thus called Mr.K and ask. We intend to change to other wood textures, but Mr.K told this is a better wood material compare to the rest (Pergo wood). He said we can change any color as we wish, but all woods are manufacturer from China, thus quality may drop and not durable especially if it got wet when we mop the floor... so, we remain this. It always quality come 1st, isn't it? :) And we feel glad that he provided us the best quality instead of cheapo stuffs where by helping him on cost savings ^_* Good job Mr.K!

Going to get our lighting today, rush rush..... everything have to rush up after CNY!

We have been to few lighting shops at Jalan Besar and Balestier Road. Basically designs wise, all carry the similar designs. Haha... nothing big different. Thus, we decided to get all our lighting recommended by Mr.K at Lite Fusion. Most importantly, since recommended by Mr.K the shop will ease in when come to price negotiation.

This was our 2nd time visited Lite Fusion. Previously I had shortlisted 1 crystal light, where I like it very much (but quite pricey). And guess what, we bought it! Hubby allow me to get it and Mr.K agreed the design looked great and match our desired dining table! ^_^ Basically, we bought all needed lights - kitchen, common bathroom, store room and 3 rooms. We got 3 crystal lights for our house (Dining hall & Master bedroom). Haha..... love the lights very much! But wallet pain pain *sob sob*

We never realize lighting can cost so much, guess because we choose crystal lights, thus slightly cost more. Is for our house anyway, be positive! *-^ Spot our lights when our house is ready!

Oh ya, we bought our basin from here as well! Cheaper price! Believe me, their quote is cheaper than others :)

06.03.2010 - Closet Design

We did not get the build in wardrobe from our ID. We had signed a good deal few months back during exhibition at Singapore Expo. A company which specialize in wardrobe - Closet Design. (previous company named as Closet Work)

The reason we choose them was due to the quality. Their wood material and pole was excellent material. The wood is scratches and fire proved. And the pole is solid as well. Further more, they are using German technology. They have soft closure technology similar to BLUM for all drawers.

The staff in charge of our deal named Aiken. A young boy that has less experience, anyway..... a good chance for him to learn and get more experience. He has came to our house on Feb did the 1st measurement, yet no received anything (no layout, no measurement) from him till last few days before we going down today. Hubby quite pissed of this, and finally the layout sent out - but the design not ideal at all. Sigh.

Had appointment with him today, to choose material and designs we wanted. Their office located at Balestier Road, very inconvenient for us! :-( Went to Closet Design showroom, saw few layout wardrobe displays which similar as we saw before during the expo show. I had draw out few designs that we preferred, but ended up rejected by him due to some restrictions. Hate it! I was very unhappy on this. Ended up another senior name Luke came over to approach us and explain, and guess what! He managed did a measurement and layout base on my requirement. Good thing! At last the layout settled.. Thanks God!

We choose the post system(latest design) instead of US design which was popular few years back. And the color we choose is Dark Brown... with full height clear tinted glass as the sliding door.

Finger cross, everything turns up nicely. Wardrobe arrange to setup on 18th March. Will update after setup done.

Week 4 Renovation (1st - 5th March 2010)

Day 1
Ceiling and wall patching work to be done today. Basically wherever spotted uneven or crack, will be plaster off so that when doing the painting work, outcome will become smoother. And especially the previous owner hang lots of creations on the wall, all over the house! Causing the wall left with all 'holes', so ugly!

Oh ya, we spotted something different in our MBR today! Mini surprised from Mr.K, enhanced our MBR air con 'ugly' trunking. Glad he did something on it! Thanks Mr.K! ^_^ Let's spot it when our house done up :P

Day 2
Yeah, time to choose paint color! Painting work will be started in next 2 days. Happy~ Choosing color is not an easy task, we have to browse through many x times before confirm the color we wanted. Of course, Mr.K was very helpful on this! :P There are different types of paint, odorless, anti bacteria, easy wash, etc....

Start it by:

1) Knowing your color theme
Choose neutral color for all rooms and blend it with 1 different color OR all rooms have different color

2) Choose your color preferences follow by types (anti bacteria/easy wash)

3) Match the preferences color with different environment
- Cosy? - Master Room?
- Fun corner? - Study room?
- Baby room?

We had spent more than 1 hours just to choose the right color, phew~ Finally get it done! We choose white (neutral color) to blend with different color (Anti Bacteria) category. This is very important especially when we have kids :) Especially our Master Room, as baby will be sleeping with us for at least few years ^_^

We categorized kitchen area as different world, which is different theme :P Thus color have to be brighter!

We have to choose Solid Surface Top color for our kitchen and master bathroom basin top as well. We choose different textures but quite similar color.

Bi-Fold door as well for our common bathroom and store room, our master bathroom will be using glass door. We choose different design of Bi-Fold door for 2 different room, but both are Bi-Fold mirror door type, so called as new design. Hope it turn out nice, finger cross! >_<

Painting work for these 3 days. The color turns out really nice, and the feeling when we step in the house was 'so bright'! Haha........

Week 3 Renovation (22nd - 26th Feb 2010)

Day 1 & Day 2
After back from CNY, our renovation work continue! Electrical and air con trunking to be installed on this two days and citigas installation as well.

For air con trunking, we requested ½ inch insulation - Insurflex. You can request for Armaflex but do take note trunking size will be increase as it's thicker. As for copper wire we took 22swg and drainage pipe 16mm thick. The reason why hubby took leave to be there, is to make sure everything delivered in order. As once installation done, you will not be able to spot the details.

07.02.2010 - Electrical Point Layout

Met up our ID Mr.K to discuss our electrical power point layout. After 2 weeks of our renovation started, now then we gather have discussion with him IN our house! What a busy man! But at least he keep track of our on going renovation with the contractor for the past 2 weeks. Our electrical/air con work will start right after Chinese New Year, before the carpentry work on March.

After discussed all the power point, we fixed a date for the electrical, air con and city gas work on 24th Feb 2010. Gonna be SUPER busy right after CNY, and hubby has to busy coordinating all schedule with the electrician, air con and city gas arrangement. Due to Mr.K met us so late, we still haven't get quotation from any electrician yet, same as air con :-( Now we stuck with the tight schedule timing, BLAME our ID who met us so LATE!!!!!!!!!!

Manage to confirm our bed frame color today as well, since we always have the hard time to meet up with Mr.K, we drag him to Ackerman & Smith to choose our bed frame color, before we let him off for the day!

Since we at Kaki Bukit, hubby suggested go to XZQT. Actually we had dropped by this place before, spotted 1 dining table, very designs - but too pricey! -_-" Still considering of the table, going to send Mr.K photo to see does it match our themes.
